You can select from a wide selection of antibody microarrays to examine normal and treated samples for changes in protein expression and phosphorylation events. The protein expression profiling service includes:

Starting material:

For each sample you wish to assay, please provide cell or tissue lysates with 400 µg or more total protein at a minimum of 2µg/µl.  Acceptable lysis buffers include Antibody Array Protein Extraction Buffer (AR-EXB-050), RIPA buffer, or other buffers suggested by commonly used lysis protocols.  The use of Tris buffer and detergents should be avoided or limited.  No more than 50mM of Tris, 0.2% SDS, or 1% non-ionic detergents should be present in the sample.  Commonly used protease and/or phosphatase inhibitors  may be added to the lysis buffer to preserve the proteins.  The proteins in the sample should remain in their native structure (not denatured). 

In addition to cell or tissue lysates, other suitable samples are:

  • Frozen cell pellets with 5 million cells
  • Frozen tissues, 50-100 mg (usually 75mg)

All samples must be frozen and shipped to us on dry ice. 

Sample quantity

For each sample you wish to assay, please provide cell or tissue lysates with 400 µg or more total protein at a minimum of 2 µg/µl.

In addition to cell or tissue lysates, other suitable samples are:
- Frozen cell pellets with 5 million cells
- Frozen tissues, 50-100 mg (usually 75 mg) All samples must be frozen and shipped to us on dry ice.

Packaging

All samples (cell pellets, tissues or protein extracts) should be stored and sent in tubes with screw caps. Mark each tube with clear identifications.

Preparing Dry Ice Shipment - Please contact your carrier for detailed packaging and shipping guidelines.

Carefully pack your samples in the Styrofoam insulated container. Add dry ice. Close the lid.. Place the insulated container inside the outer container; close and seal with packaging tapes. Clearly mark "Perishable" on the outside of the package.

Shippping

Send the package to any carrier that accepts dry ice shipments. Be sure to drop it off before the carrier's daily cut-off time to minimize shipment's transit time.
