Eurogentec has developed a new peptide Array program for high throughput drug screening and for high throughput detection and for the quantification of antibodies in sera and other patient specimens . This is the fastest and most economical way to synthesize 96 different peptides, unbound, in a 96-well format.
The peptide array can be used to map the specificities of a variety of interactions, including antibodies, protein domains such SH2 domains, and protein kinases:

Spotting of peptides, antibodies and cell extracts
Antibodies, proteins and peptides are typically spotted on amino-reactive glass slides and nylon membranes. As many as 20000 spots can be printed per standard glass slide 25 x 75 mm, spot diameter of ± 150 µm, spot spacing ± 300 µm from centre to centre. Several grids can be spotted on the same slide, allowing performing multiple binding experiments on the same slide.
The proteins are contact printed and the tools and technologies developed for DNA MicroArray (hybridization chambers, differential fluorescent labelling and slide scanners) can readily be used.
When provided by the customer, the biological material should at least contain 15 µg of purified protein or peptide, in a Tris and sodium azide free buffer (ideally in PBS) or as a salt free powder.
Although it might vary significantly from protein to protein, spotted slides are processed in such a way that under regular storage conditions at 4 °C, printed antibodies remain functional during at least one month.
