RKRSRAE is a selective substrate for protein kinase G (PKG) with a strong preference for PKG Ia (Km = 59 mM) over PKG II (Km = 305 mM). The Vmax/Km of the peptide substrate is significantly increased by peptide-546, a PKG activator.
