We produce up to 20 mg POCs in our facilities located in Belgium.
The typical lead time is 5 to 6 weeks. Each POC is HPLC-purified and QC tested by Mass Spectrometry.
Different conjugation strategies can be applied based on sequences and customer requirements.
POCs can harbor specific modifications, either on the peptide or on the oligo branch, to fit varied functionalities.
What are POC’s?
Peptide-oligonucleotide conjugates are molecular composites containing a nucleic acid moiety covalently linked to a polypeptide moiety. They serve many important roles as potential therapeutics and owing to their stability, can resist intracellular enzymes present in different cellular compartments.
Why use POC’s?
Both DNA and RNA-peptide conjugates are frequently used for cell screening or in vivo studies. To increase the membrane permeability of the target oligonucleotide, it may be covalently bound to a cell penetrating/cell permeable peptide.
In therapeutics, one of the most interesting application is targeted drug delivery. In peptide-mediated oligonucleotide delivery, the therapeutic oligonucleotide, such as antisense DNA, is conjugated to a cell-permeable peptide which acts as a cargo carrier of the oligonucleotide.
Peptide-oligo conjugates can also be used as DNA-directed immobilization to a solid support for binding to antigens.
